Follow along as Linda of HausOfColor gives us the inside scoop of her adventures in Beijing and Shanghai!
Amid the hustle & bustle of Beijing, there lies “The Hutongs” —alleys upon alleys of charming old homes nestled in the city’s center. I rode a rickshaw through the town that day, I remembered it was so hot, I was perspiring in places I didn’t even know had sweat glands! #AllWorthItThough!
There’s a rumor that you can see The Great Wall of China from space, I was determined to make it to the top so I can wave profusely to the astronauts. I didn’t make it very far, but I waved to them anyway! And by the way, it really is just a rumor #fyi
Do you recognize these beautiful “floating” pillars? Think Pandora & sexy Zoe Zaldana in blue body paint with pointy ears… yep… Avatar!! Zhangjiajie is a short flight from Beijing and has the most breathtaking views of mother nature you will ever see! Pandora does exist guys!
Zhangjiajie is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been to. Many Chinese landscape art was inspired by this magical forest, which is also designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Definitely a bucket list destination!
I grew up watching foreign Chinese movies set in the 50’s in old Shanghai. I dreamt of one day being able to breathe the city’s air and bask in the culture… I was here with The Bund before my eyes, and in this moment, I let myself get lost before the glimmering skyline. That dream finally came true.”
