I believe in travel. I believe in its ability to bridge divides, enlighten humanity and teach lessons of both personal growth and courage. After traveling to over fifty countries, there are places in this world that have utterly left me breathless while also pushing me to conquer personal boundaries. Two of those that are close to my heart are Egypt and Jordan. Two countries that have forever left my heart skipping. This fall, I am so honored and thrilled to have you join us for an adventure of a lifetime. Come with me this October and learn why my love for Egypt and Jordan are real and true.
As a Chaldean woman, my Middle Eastern heritage has always left me feeling extremely tied to the beauty, culture and traditions of Egypt and Jordan. In a lot of ways, my innate tie to these two countries has allowed me to feel intimately close – to its people, its rich and vibrant colors and its magical landscapes. Growing up Chaldean, I heard so many stories (in English and Arabic!) about the beautiful mysteries of Egypt, the delicious food of street markets in Jordan, the warmth of family and neighbors. Dreaming of my past relatives living within the same time frame as pharaohs, the building of the Great Pyramids, camping in nomads deep in the desert fills my heart with wonder. I’m so excited to have the opportunity to bring these images to life with you on this adventure in October!
This once in a lifetime trip is something I’ve been dreaming of for years. Making new friends while savoring the eclectic and exotic wonders (and foods!) of Egypt and Jordan? Count me in! So often I am told that my female traveler friends fear traveling to the Middle Eastern area. Despite the negative comments and judgements, I’ve found these Arabic countries to be nothing but extraordinarily special and incredibly warm and inviting. In a world full of divides, travelers know that encountering a culture unlike our own allows us to gain understanding and teach us humility and appreciation. There truly is no other place like Egypt and Jordan, alike.
So often as travelers, we have preconceived ideas and expectations of what to expect whenever we enter a new place. We stay away from discomfort. We say no to experiences that challenge our ideals. But, it’s my hope that in saying “yes” to that discomfort, we are shown the greatest adventures we can imagine. Pushing our personal boundaries with the hopes to learn and grow, all while making meaningful friendships, investing in self-growth and making lifelong memories is a triple win!
More About The Trip
During our trip together, we’ll be getting authentic glimpses into Egypt and Jordan for what they really are with the amazing Inertia Network. Working with Matt to create the absolute perfect itinerary for us all was a dream! Through interacting with locals, diving deep into real interactions and investing in each other and our experiences along our way, we’re sure to make countless memories. Our itinerary together starts in Egypt. From our first night in Cairo, where we’ll formally meet, we’ll explore the land of pharaohs, chronicles upon chronicles of ancient history, fallen kingdoms and pyramids. Some highlights I’m looking forward to during our first “core week” exploring Egypt are:
- Exploring the Dakhla Oasis deep in the desert
- The Pyramids and Antiquities Museum
- Exploration of modern Cairo with filmmakers
- The Valley of the Kings and Queens
- The Temples of Karnak and Luxor
- Cruising the Nile on Feluccas
For the following “peripheral” week, we’ll travel to the thousand year old historical country of Jordan. Between noshing on modern Jordanian bites and having a grand old time hanging out together, we’ll also have the following events to look forward to:
- Swimming in the Dead Sea
- Exploring the ancient city of Petra
- Evening at Jebel al-Madhbah
- 4×4 adventure through Wadi Rum
- Living with Beduin nomads in the desert
- Sleeping under the stars
- Petra by night
Both myself and Matt have spent a very long time pouring over the details of our itinerary. I love the idea of having a trip segmented by “core” and “peripheral.” This plan gives us the perfect amount of time to invest in meaningful experiences to invest in the culture of Egypt and Jordan. The first week, is priced at $2,250 USD and the second is priced at $1,950 USD… and if you sign-up for both weeks you get a $500 discount! More information about pricing and what’s included can be found right here.
P E T R A ✨This isn’t the first time we’ve been awestruck by an adventure, but we just keep asking each other if this is actually the BEST place we’ve ever had the chance to explore. It’s hard to describe and so incredibly beautiful that no photos will ever do it justice, but we did our best.
