So you’re planning a trip to South America, eh? Booking your flights with LAN is a great place to start. When traveling abroad, I always try to fly the destination’s original airline to get a better feel of the destination even before I even land on their soil. I partnered up with LAN Airlines to explore South America for the first time and I enjoyed my experience every flight across the board. If you plan on visiting more than one country within South America, it’s wise to look into purchasing an Airpass which will provide you with discounts and allow you to create your itinerary from there.
LAN has expanded tremendously over the years and I appreciated the fact that every aircraft I boarded was clean, modern and fresh.
I love flying economy overseas because regardless of the duration, they still make sure you’re well fed, even if it means providing you with simple snacks to get you through! Even in economy, you’re provided with blankets, headsets, a pillow and snacks and the flight attendants are just as great as they are in Business Class.
Make sure to snag a window seat if you’re flying from Lima to Cusco or vice versa. The views are spectacular the whole way through!
Premium Business Class
The service was excellent across the board and the environment was made for pure relaxation. The seats turn into beds and become 100% horizontal allowing for plenty of sleep before your final destination!
I loved the friendly and genuine service from the flight attendants. I felt comfortable and well fed. You are also provided with a Salvatore Ferragamo amenity kit which was a wonderful touch!
The food was excellent and the wine menu was superb, offering wines from all over the world. The airline is known to have an excellent wine menu when it comes to in-flight meals, just check out their feature in Travel & Leisure’s ‘World’s Best Airlines for Food‘ round-up!
The LAN lounge in Buenos Aires, Argentina has become one of my favorites. It was chic, modern while also comfortable and the clean lines are a photographer’s dream.
The lounge in the JFK Airport is also note worthy with its floor to ceiling windows, huge space and full service bar and showers.
