Hotels We Love: Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong

Hong Kong is home to some of the world’s most luxurious hotels but the centrally located Island Shangri-La is truly one of its gems. Perfectly located in the Central District,  the Island Shangri-La boasts some of the most magnificent views of Hong Kong from almost every angle and this 5-star hotel also features a stunning outdoor pool, 8 restaurants and a coffee shop/café.

Rooms
With 56 floors, 531 exquisite guestrooms and 34 suites, which are among the largest in any hotel in Hong Kong, all of the rooms have magnificent views of the  city, the Peak or the world-famous Victoria Harbour. We stayed in the Horizon Harbour View Room which granted us access to the Horizon Club, always my favorite perk when staying at a Shangri-La property.

Horizon Club
Although the views are amazing from almost every perspective within the hotel, the views of The Peak and Victoria Harbour from the Horizon Club are sure to take your breathe away. The Horizon Club lounge comes with many perks such as complimentary breakfast at the lounge or at the adjacent Restaurant Petrus, private check-in and check-out, personal concierge and secretarial services, complimentary beverages, snacks, evening cocktails and champagne, one complimentary suit pressing per stay and more.

Restaurants
Pétrus
Perched 56 floors over the dazzling city, Restaurant Pétrus is pure glamour, serving up the best French cuisine in town.

Lobster Bar and Grill
I absolutely loved having lunch at this super chic and stylish restaurant. The interior design is mesmerizing and the concept is unique, featuring lobster in almost every dish and a lobster tower before the small plates come out. Such a great place for lunch meetings or just catching up with friends.

Island Shangri-La looks like such an amazing hotel! Wouldn’t mind staying there one day. For my upcoming trip to Hong Kong I have decided to stay on the southside of the Island instead of in Central. I lived in Hong Kong back in 2015, so for this trip I wanna try to experience new places around the beautiful city. Will have to check out Shangri-La one day though!!
